Today we debuted a captivating new trailer for the upcoming Skybound Comet release CLEMENTINE: BOOK ONE, the new Young Adult graphic novel from award-winning writer/artist Tillie Walden (Spinning, On A Sunbeam) that begins a trilogy set in the world of Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead.
The trailer grants an all-new sneak preview of Clementine on a perilous journey as she discovers new allies, new rivals, and new love in this coming-of-age story. Even in the apocalypse, Clementine and her comrades may just find that there is no greater threat to their survival than each other.
It’s a new beginning for Clementine, the star of the bestselling video game franchise TELLTALE’S THE WALKING DEAD, in CLEMENTINE: BOOK ONE, as she’s back on the road, looking to put her traumatic past behind her and forge a new path all her own. But when she comes across an Amish teenager named Amos, the unlikely pair journeys north to an abandoned ski resort in Vermont, where they meet up with a small group of teenagers attempting to build a new, walker-free settlement. As friendship, rivalry, and romance begin to blossom amongst the group, the harsh winter soon reveals that the biggest threat to their survival…might be each other.
CLEMENTINE: BOOK ONE (Diamond Code MAY218587, ISBN: 978-1-5343-2128-1) will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play on Wednesday, June 22 and everywhere books are sold on June 28.
I think the idea of continuing Clementine’s Story is a flawed one that completely undermines the significance of the Ending of The Walking Dead: The Final Season. It was meant to be the conclusion to Clementine’s Story, where she could finally have a home with AJ and be with a group that she looks at like a family and feels a sense of belonging.
I do think that perhaps the decision to continue the Book was not made with the best intentions of maintaining the welfare of the Story, otherwise it wouldn’t have dismissed an Ending that so many held dear, and still do. I get that Clementine is a popular character, but surely the production of merchandise would’ve been a better decision than to actually continue her Story and ignore the branching narrative of the games?
I have lost a serious amount of respect for Skybound, I will always appreciate that The Walking Dead: The Final Season was saved and received its Ending by the hand of the StillNotBitten Team and Skybound, but I strongly dislike how that very same Ending was thrown away so to publish a trilogy of Books that move Clementine further away from the Ending that was intended to wrap up Clementine’s Story and The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series.
I can understand the economic choice of orienting a suite for young adults only (female teens). But it completely destroys the character of Clementine, and the story of Telltale. What a terrible choice! The bridge between the two (the very brief comic in Skybound X) is ridiculous. Stop this massacre and go back the new Telltale games or other ones for a reboot: a trilogy between the existing seasons (7-10, 10-13, 13-16 years olds) or a true sequel (capture of school children by a military junta, hord on the school and search for a new place, Clementine’s suffering and drug addiction, Clementine pregnant)… so many things to do for an adult game of a new kind. Clementine is a fantastic video game character. With a good script you have gold in your hands. And a comic book for teens would always have been possible in parallel, telling the adventures of Clementine and her love affairs (female teen oriented if this an important business for you).
What a pathetic choice you made… doing nothing would have been a better sequel than insulting the original story and the work done for season 4 and its finale.
In any case, I wish full success to this comic and its authors. I am disappointed but without hatred.
They half to make another game everyone wants another game the comic book looks trash they need to make a game with Clementine and AJ and continue the story it would be the greatest game ever

Clementine would NEVER abandon AJ.
why are you making a sequel as if from another multiverse
, leave us the old Clementine and give her a continuation, otherwise the story ended very quickly, a huge request to create a continuation of the telltale game
